Research installation video artists

An American artist named Douglas Gordon and an actor named James Franco have created a video installation in Pace Gallery in London called Psyco Nacirema, The artists first collaborated on the Rebel constellation, a work presented at the Venice Film Festival, in September 2011 and on Rebel, an exhibition presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles in 2012.

In these works, Franco acted as a producer for Gordon, while in Psycho Nacirema Gordon has acted as a curator and teacher for Franco. In Psycho Nacirema, James Franco uses the motel structure as both a physical and literal framework, reinterpreting iconic scenes from the original film through  details such as  the infamous shower room where the film character Marion Crane, is murdered. One of Gordon’s most well-known works is 24 Hour Psycho (1993), a projection of Alfred Hitchcock’s famous film slowed down to last an entire day which also sparked inspiration for the exhibition.

CNN company Quoted; “A field in the heart of the English countryside has been transformed into a sea of shimmering light.”

“Film is the medium that employs all art forms, but it is contained within the screen. We take this multi-form idea and pull it through the screen, so that the different forms are once again fully dimensional and a new nexus of interaction and significance is created. In this show, we go back to the original locations and images of Psycho and alter them so that once again the viewer's relationship with the material changes. One becomes an actor when interacting with this work. Film becomes raw material and is sculpted into new work.” James Franco, May 2013.

Use Me is an installation video worked on by three different artist; you have Anthony Rocco who the video is made by, you have Yuri Psinakis who was the producer for this Installation Video and you have the music by  Dillon J. Arismendi three artist that have emerged together that have created a piece with visual content, It is an installation video where you have your on views on it and your own feelings for it while watching the installation video.

Yuri Psinakis who is the producer  is a self-taught artist and producer living,  five years ago Yuri curated Contemporary Bay Area Art, which featured 14 artists working in different media whose commitment to individual aesthetic represented the wild diversity of Bay Area art. With USE ME, the Scion Installation Space will be articulated with functional objects, or their inspiration, materialized by designers whose work is informed through close relationships--with friends, clients, patrons, and their own passion.

One artist  I found most different and fascinating was  Bruce Munro he is an installation artist working in light. He Owns a  three-part company they have an enduring passion for light in all it's forms. They approach the creation of lighting plans for interiors and gardens as an art in itself. They are creating bespoke luminaries, chandeliers and sculptures. But their large scale installations are is their heart and soul, and best express is what they love about light.

Overall, these three artist I chose to talk about was different and looked more at the visual aspect of their video installation. With James Franco acting in Pscyo Nacirema was a highlight of the video installation because Franco is a well know actor, to have an installation video of him here in London in a great way for his fans and himself as we don't get that much of a change to view James Franco work. Other than James Franco's eye catching installation video, you have Bruno Munro who's all about lights which is straight visual and mind blowing type of art which is great because you can walk in to his gallery and feel happiness and bright and good about things because of the effect and care and love he has put in to his video installation which is great artistic work.
